Members of the Committee of the Irish National Association are deeply involved in Irish culture and arts, and have many links with the Irish community in Sydney and around Australia.
President: Denis O’Flynn
Denis has been committed for many years to leading the organisation and keeping it true to its objectives. He has a special interest in Irish identity and history, including the 1798 monument at Waverley.
Vice President: Karl Kinsella
Active in Sydney’s Irish community and as an events manager, Karl has been a director of Sydney’s St Patrick’s Day parade, promoted Irish bands touring Australia, and supports arts and theatre.
Vice President: Ben Stephenson
Ben is an internationally recognized Irish musician and member of the acclaimed traditional Irish band Trouble in the Kitchen. Passionate about Irish music and dance, Ben is also the main organiser of the INA’s Junior Fleadh program.
Treasurer: Valerie Warton
Valerie is the long term and much valued INA Treasurer, who makes sure that the bills are paid, and the accounts and membership records kept in order.
Secretary: Paul Mortimer
With a background in welfare advocacy and migrant services, Paul is a keen musician who has organised Irish concerts and music lessons, plus the collection of the Sydney Irish histories.
Assistant Secretary: Liam O’Mahony
Liam is an eminent and steadfast supporter of the INA and Irish culture and activities. An accountant by profession, he raises funds for the INA’s Cultural Fund.
Assistant Secretary: Greg Dowling
With a background in urban planning, government and business management, Greg helps the INA to focus its Irish cultural activities and manage its assets.
